Mckenna Grace
Mckenna GraceĀ (born June 25, 2006) is an American actress and singer. Born inĀ Grapevine, Texas, she began acting professionally at age five and relocated to Los Angeles, California, as a child. Her earliest roles included Jasmine Bernstein in theĀ Disney XDĀ sitcomĀ Crash & BernsteinĀ (2012ā2014) andĀ Faith NewmanĀ in the soap operaĀ The Young and the RestlessĀ (2013ā2015). After several minor roles, she starred as a child prodigy inĀ GiftedĀ (2017), a breakthrough for which she received theĀ Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer.
Grace subsequently appeared in the filmsĀ I, TonyaĀ (2017),Ā Troop ZeroĀ (2019), andĀ Captain MarvelĀ (2019). During this time, she appeared in several horror projects, includingĀ The Bad Seed(2018),Ā The Haunting of Hill HouseĀ (2018), andĀ Annabelle Comes HomeĀ (2019). For playing the abused teenager Esther Keyes inĀ The Handmaid's TaleĀ (2021ā2022), Grace was nominated for theĀ Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, making her the first child recognized for a guest acting Emmy. She appeared in the supernatural comedy filmsĀ Ghostbusters: AfterlifeĀ (2021) andĀ Ghostbusters: Frozen EmpireĀ (2024) asĀ Phoebe Spengler, receiving critical praise and aĀ Critics' Choice Super AwardĀ nomination. In 2022, Grace wrote, executive produced, starred inĀ The Bad Seed Returns and portrayedĀ Jan BrobergĀ inĀ A Friend of the Family.
After signing withĀ Photo Finish RecordsĀ in 2020, Grace released her debut single, "Haunted House", in 2021 as part of theĀ Ghostbusters: AfterlifeĀ soundtrack. She released two extended plays in 2023:Ā Bittersweet 16Ā andĀ Autumn Leaves, which exploredĀ pop rockĀ andĀ folkĀ sounds, respectively.
