Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis-Dreyfus (born January 13, 1961) is an American actress and comedian. Often described as one of the most outstanding performers in television history, she is widely known for her roles as various characters onĀ Saturday Night LiveĀ (1982ā1985),Ā Elaine BenesĀ onĀ SeinfeldĀ (1990ā1998),Ā Christine CampbellĀ onĀ The New Adventures of Old ChristineĀ (2006ā2010), andĀ Selina MeyerĀ onĀ VeepĀ (2012ā2019). Louis-Dreyfus was born in New York City, the daughter of the French billionaireĀ GĆ©rard Louis-Dreyfus, and entered comedy as a performer with theĀ Practical Theatre CompanyĀ inĀ Chicago. This led to her being cast in the sketch showĀ Saturday Night Live.
