Gemma ChanĀ (born 29 November 1982)Ā is an English actress.Ā A Ā Worcester College, Oxford graduate, Chan began acting in the late 2000s, making her film debut in 2009. She rose to attention with her leading role in theĀ Channel 4Ā science fiction seriesĀ HumansĀ (2015–2018). She gained prominence with her starring roles inĀ Crazy Rich AsiansĀ and asĀ Elizabeth HardwickĀ inĀ Mary Queen of ScotsĀ (both 2018).Ā 

She next starred in theĀ Marvel Cinematic Universe filmsĀ Captain MarvelĀ (2019) andĀ EternalsĀ (2021), portrayingĀ Minn-ErvaĀ andĀ Sersi, respectively. She also had a voice role in theĀ Disney animatedĀ filmĀ Raya and the Last DragonĀ (2021). She appeared inĀ Olivia Wilde's psychological thrillerĀ Don't Worry DarlingĀ (2022) andĀ Gareth Edwards' science fiction filmĀ The CreatorĀ (2023). Offscreen, Chan has been labelled aĀ fashion icon.
